Cape Coral Museum of History, Cape Coral, FL

Established on June 12, 1980, the Cape Coral Historical Society is dedicated to safeguarding and disseminating Cape Coral’s rich heritage. Three years after its inception, the society acquired the original Cape Coral Country Club Pro Shop and Snack Bar building from the city, which was subsequently transformed into the Cape Coral Museum of History, welcoming its first visitors in 1987.

Today, the museum encompasses three buildings, each housing captivating exhibits that narrate the tale of Cape Coral’s past. Managed by the Cape Coral Historical Society, overseen by a fifteen-member Board of Directors, and aided by a full-time and part-time staff member, along with approximately 50 dedicated volunteers, the museum operates for about 200 days annually. Its doors are open from 11 am to 4 pm on Wednesdays through Fridays and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays.

Within the museum’s exhibits, visitors can immerse themselves in the history of Cape Coral, encompassing its inception, expansion, and evolution. These displays delve into diverse subjects, encompassing the region’s natural environment, wildlife, early settlers, and iconic landmarks.
